Painted after collecting reference images of a snowshoeing afternoon at Crimson lake in Alberta on a bright sunny day when the colors were intense and the contrast was super evident. A lonely ice fishing tent in set up in the distance on the frozen lake just beyond the shade of the trees. Originally acrylic on canvas, and only 12"x 12" this painting is bold and beautiful in its color palette and detailed in composition using photo reference taken on the day.
